Helping Moms Be Their Best
…because a happy & healthy mommy means a happy & healthy baby.Take the First Step
We exist to help moms. It’s as simple as that. Too often society expects women to figure out the many intricacies and challenges of being a mother on their own, writing it off as “maternal instinct”. The truth is motherhood is infinitely more complicated and nuanced than anyone really talks about.
We’re here to change that. And in doing so, give new and expecting moms the help and support they need to embrace one of life’s greatest gifts.
Our Medical Director
Avanee Patel, MD, FACOG; High-Risk Pregnancy Specialist
Dr. Patel is a board-certified OB/GYN and high-risk pregnancy physician and has served as Director of The Antepartum Testing Unit. While caring for her patients, she noticed that mothers, in addition to medical care, also needed physical and emotional wellness support throughout their pre and post pregnancy process. Her patient experience along with her own motherhood journey led her to help create MaternalWell. Dr. Patel continues to practice high-risk pregnancy and also teaches future OB/GYNs.

Your Designated Team For Complete Maternal Health
We pride ourselves in complementing existing physician care by building a multi-disciplinary clinic focused on often overlooked needs of women at the time they need it the most. While clinically and academically supported, true multi-disciplinary care has often fallen by the wayside due to real-world time, economics, and cost pressures. As a result, women are often left to figure it out on their own, with little guidance. We are able to overcome some of these barriers by leveraging our telehealth platform and our experienced network of experts to address these gaps in support through virtual visits.
Maternal mental health is one the largest areas where this gap in support can be seen. Most symptoms of baby blues and postpartum depression occur weeks, if not days, after the initial joys of a new child. However, the first screening traditionally occurs at six weeks after delivery during the first physical check-up appointment. The conventional approach is that these feelings typically go away after a few days and women are left to wait out the symptoms. If the symptoms worsen or persist they are expected to visit an expert for who can help—albeit at a time when it’s a struggle to commute, let alone, get out of bed. With MaternalWell moms can proactively address their mental health with our providers at any time before or after delivery to get guidance and support from their home.
Our goal is to give women the tools they need to be the mothers they want to become.
With our telehealth platform, women are no longer expected to figure it out themselves through Google searches and chat rooms. At our core, we do not look at our telehealth platform as simply providing cost and convenience benefits, rather we are passionate about proactively helping women during this defining time.
